Can I pick my car up at one location and return it to another location?

  • Very few companies let you reserve one way rentals online. One of the suppliers we have who lets you do it online is One Travel . Can i use my debit card to make a reservation?

  • Major agencies need a Credit Card to make a reservation but some agencies lets you rent a car with a deposit. Please read the rules and regulations of car rental agencies before making a reservation. Most of the rental agencies lets you pay with a debit card after drop off.

I am 24 years old! Can i make a rent-a-car?

  • Most agencies require that you at least be the of 25 years.

    Exceptions: If you are under 25, but over 21 years of age, you may be allowed to rent at some locations and you will be charged an additional daily fee. Some agencies may require that you are in the government, military or have a special corporate account (read the restrictions) to qualify under the age of 25. Many smaller local rental car companies allow drivers 21 years or older and some even allow drivers 18 years or older.

Is it a problem if i let someone else drive the car without first listing them as an additional authorized driver?

  • Yes, and it can be a big one. If someone else drives the car without the Rental Company’s permission, you have most likely violated the contract terms and any protection you had under that contract may be voided. This violation could complicate or even negate claims against your personal insurance and negatively impact any coverage you receive from your credit card. If the police stop an unauthorized driver, that driver can be detained or even arrested because they don’t have any legal right to have possession of the car.

Why do rental car rates change so often?

  • Most rental car companies use a rate system called "yield management". This system is based on supply and demand. Rates can change by the day, hour and even minute based on these factors.

I am from overseas, will rental car companies accept an "International Driver's License or IDP"?

  • Yes, a few do. Some companies accept an International Drivers Permit (IDP) with passport only. Most larger companies require you to have a valid, up to date drivers licensed issued by your home country. Please inquire with the rental car company before making a reservation.

    Note: The Drivers license or IDP must be an original, be present at the time of pick up, and be in the name of the person who is picking up the car.
    The renter's driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. Expired licenses will not be accepted.

How do I modify or change my car rental itinerary?

  • Since we deal with multiple agencies, all have different policy.

    Normally when you reserve a car rental, you get a confirmation email, Car Rental agencies provide information on the confirmation email about how to contact them. Please use the email address to request changes or modifications.

    If you have made reservation using hotwire or priceline, you cannot modify or change your itinerary.

    Modifications may cause rate changes. Car rates can change daily, or even hourly, so changes you make to your reservation after confirmation can affect the original rate.

What are additional charges? and does it include in the quote?

  • » CDW/LDW (Collision Damage Waiver, also called Loss Damage Waiver).
  • » State sales tax.
  • » Top-up insurance. (Covers liability with regard to third party injury and property damage)
  • » Airport Taxes. (Airport taxes are the fees that the airports charge to car companies for the use of their terminals, railroads, and roads plus other service charges mandated by the airport.)
  • » Special Mandatory taxes that are only applied in certain countries.
  • » Additional charges for young drivers, additional drivers, infant seat rentals,...
  • Generally the Quotes are without additional charges. Please contact the Toll Free directly for the additional charges.

  • Most of the additional charges are normally paid directly to the car rental operators but some agencies lets you pay in advance for some of the charges.

Do rental car companies provide or offer infant or child safety seats with the car rental?

  • Most of the major rental car companies offer both infant and child safety seats subject to availability. You will need to reserve these in advance to insure you have one during your trip. They are usually anywhere from $2-$10 per day on top of your basic rental charges.

Are there seperate rules for local renters?

  • Many rental agencies do have additional rules and regulations for local renters or individuals not traveling by plane to their rental destination. Unlimited mileage and additional fees may vary. Contact your rental agency directly when you receive your confirmation number for further details specific to your reservation.

Am I better off with an unlimited mileage or capped rate?

  • Sometimes the daily rate on a rental car with a mileage cap will be cheaper. If you are going to be driving fewer miles than the mileage cap allows, you may save from $3 to $7 per day on a rental car if you opt for a rental rate with a mileage cap.

    On the other hand, unlimited mileage rates offer freedom from watching the odometer. Whatever your choice, it’s best to calculate your costs ahead of time so you can take the least expensive approach that meets your needs.

What happens if the rental car is damaged, stolen, or in an accident?

  • If the car is stolen or has been involved in an accident, first call the local police or appropriate law enforcement agency. Next, call the nearest office of the rental car company, give them your rental agreement or confirmation number and explain what has happened. If it’s after hours, call the 24X7 Number. You’ll be led through the procedure to get you going again. Finally, call your own auto insurance company with information on the incident. Be sure to check with the rental company on their breakdown policy before you drive away.

    Accidents and vehicle theft aren’t something we like to think about, especially on a trip, but they can happen even to the most careful driver. Optional waivers (as outlined above) can be purchased to reduce or eliminate your financial exposure which could include the full value of the vehicle and lost rental revenue during its replacement period.

    Be careful not to violate your car rental agreement by driving while intoxicated or under the influence of a controlled substance, allowing an unauthorized personal to drive the vehicle, leaving the windows, doors or trunk unlocked, or leaving the keys in the ignition when parked. If the agreement if violated, it makes the waiver void. Be sure to familiarize yourself with all of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.

    Remember that, as the renter, you are liable for all parking and moving traffic violations, both domestic and international, so please drive safely and observe all ordinances.
